Let Your Parents See the Doctor at Home
As your parents grow older, they will increasingly face medical issues that become more common with age. However, it can be quite a headache to escort them all the way to the hospital, as work, taking care of your children, and other responsibilities demand your time and attention as well. Thankfully, United Family Home Health (UFHH) offers a solution through our premium home healthcare services.
The benefits of home care
Many elderly people who receive home healthcare services suffer from chronic diseases including hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and even tumors. For these elderly people and their family, getting sick and seeing the doctor may seem like a never-ending battle. Even though most of the time the patient’s condition is steady, a health crisis requiring a hospital visit may happen several times a month or a few times a week—day or night. This inconvenience results in stress and other difficulties for everyone involved.
By bringing professional clinicians directly to your door to provide home healthcare services, patients no longer need to leave the comfort of their home to receive medical services. This saves time and energy for the whole family, as well as making the elderly more comfortable. From a psychological perspective, most people are far more relaxed at home than having to visit a hospital.
Nonetheless, for certain circumstances, UFHH medical staff will advise and require patients to go to the hospital. Such circumstances include when a patient’s condition rapidly deteriorates, their poor health meets or surpasses hospital admission standards, or their disease requires further examination in a hospital setting (e.g., CT, colonoscopy, gastroscopy examination).
UFHH’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Qin Xinyan, stresses that home healthcare is not simply restricted to medical services at home. It constitutes a cohesive combination with medical services patients receive from clinics and hospitals. “Better to stay at home” is the original purpose of home healthcare, but medical staff still must responsibly give their professional judgment to patients on whether or not they need to go to the hospital for treatment.
Who needs home healthcare?
Based on current cases, patients that home healthcare from UFHH is tailored for can be divided into four categories:
1. Post-operative tracking care
2. Stable patients with chronic disease who are able to take care of themselves, yet still require long-term medical monitoring at home, including regular check-ups and medication guidance
3. Middle-aged business professionals who want to lead a healthy lifestyle with specific medical guidance and regular health monitoring, such as the prevention of diabetes and other diseases
4. People with serious illness who have trouble managing their life by themselves and traveling is extremely inconvenient, yet still require continuous treatment and periodic monitoring
The UFHH home healthcare plan includes two nurses per home visit, while the frequency of a doctor’s visit varies according to the specific package.
UFHH’s nurse, Ms. Lee, has ten years of nursing experience, while all other staff nurses need to have at least three years working experience and strong bilingual language skills (usually English), and overseas work experience before admission to UFHH. All nurses must take part in professional training in nursing care for women, children, and the elderly.
The health and wellbeing of the elderly people requires the attention and support of the entire family, and society as a whole. Please let us help you and your family with this important goal.
